The Holy Spirit is still active in the Church today. One of the ways in which we can discern the Holy Spirit’s activity is when we see baptised and confirmed Catholics putting their gifts at the service of the community. In Ballinlough we are blessed to have a team of generous and compassionate men and women who will serve as members of our Funeral Ministry Team.
These will be commissioned at the 11am Mass this, Pentecost, Sunday.
This group of people will, in pairs, lead the prayers in the funeral home where the deceased person is reposing.
The ministry is a sign of the faith of the Church interceding for the dead person and bringing consolation to the bereaved.
As our Funeral Ministry Team begins its important service, I ask that you keep them in your prayers as they make present the saving and comforting grace of Jesus Christ.
